VIAC 2025 Scholarship Winner

My name is Serena Haji Karimian, and it is a privilege to have received the Victoria Italian Assistance Centre Scholarship.

At the beginning of my post-secondary journey, I will be attending Camosun College, where I plan to pursue an Associate of Arts degree in English with the goal of becoming an international English teacher. The courses I complete at Camosun will later be transferred to the University of Victoria, where I will continue my education.

I have always been drawn to learning new languages and cultures but most importantly the Italian language and culture—to stay connected to my birthplace. I also have a deep passion for art, particularly pencil drawing and working with ink, which I continue to pursue as a personal hobby.

This scholarship will walk alongside my studies, supporting the foundation of my future goals.

For that, I thank you once more for helping to build the beginning of the path that lies ahead.

Hall Rentals

We host wedding receptions, seasonal parties, and specialty events utilising a commercial kitchen, raised stage, cushioned chairs, long and round tables, and Victoria’s smoothest dance floor.
Bring your family and friends to a beautiful, spacious hall and dance to the late hours of the night. There’s a stage for a band and speeches, and a commercial kitchen and bar for keeping guests going.

Planning to travel? The best way to learn Italian is to immerse yourself in the culture and language. Learn Italian from one of our tutors so you can take the Italy trip you dreamt of. It’s for beginners to intermediate, and even children.
